Progressive Tuesday #11
Prineville-Milliken Loop
NOTE: Terry took a fall on his mountain bike and is on the injured list for a bit. David Wittmann will cover lead for this one, so it's still on.
This is the last in a series of increasingly longer rides with the intent of increasing rider endurance. Rides are every Tuesday and ride length will generally increase by about 5 miles a week. This ride starts in Prineville, on the east end of Ochoco Creek Park, near the tennis courts (NE Juniper, just north of Hwy 26). There are restrooms at the parking area. We'll head south down the Crooked River Canyon, cross the dam, then climb out of the canyon before turning east on Reservoir Road and then north on Milliken Road for the long, fast, slightly downhill run back to Prineville. The objective of the Progressive Tuesdays rides is to prepare riders for the longer rides like those associated with the Tour the De Chutes or the Firecracker 100. These rides are a great way to increase endurance, learn about new ride routes, and enjoy the scenic beauty of rural of Oregon.
