Peter Skene to Mountain View Loop 

This route is my favorite road route in Central Oregon. If the weather is clear, the views of the Cascades are fantastic. The cars are minimal. The starting point is the parking lot at the Peter Skene Rest Stop on Hwy 97. Supplies can be replenished in Metolius at about mile 16. The total elevation gain is 1,920 with one moderate three mile climb.

Riders should mostly stay together because some of the turns are not obvious. Regrouping, however, is to be expected in some sections.

The weather has been questionable, but I expect to ride even if there is a chance of rain. Currently, the forecast (as of 4/10) calls for a 30% chance of rain after 11:00 a.m.
