Culver - Mountain View

Part of the Madras Mountain Views Scenic Bikeway, this 28-mile ride rolls through farm fields and skims along the canyon rim of Lake Billy Chinook. The scenery might get distracting, so we’ll stop at one of the overlooks for pictures and a snack.

The route begins and ends in the Culver, a small town that’s the gateway to Lake Billy Chinook. Meet at the City Park. Our route quickly leaves the city behind topping out on a broad plateau of ranch lands and crop rows. The Cascade Range sits on the horizon, a string of volcanic snow-dusted peaks. On a good day you can see from Mt. Hood to Mt. Bachelor.

Weather may be iffy, with the potential for wind and rain, so check your email on Tuesday evening. I’ll only cancel if it looks like we’ll get wet.
