Big CW Loop around Bend

This is the D-pace version of the Saturday ride trifecta. Check the calendar for B- and C-paced rides starting and finishing from the same spot.

Meet at On Tap, ready to ride at 8:30 AM.

This ride takes a big, meandering jaunt around the outskirts of the metropolis we call Bend. We start at the On Tap Food Truck lot, head east down Alfalfa a bit, then turn south through beautiful ranch country. When we get to the SE corner, we'll turn west for quite a ways, cross over Hwy 97, and find Brookswood Blvd. for the fast trek north, back towards civilization. After a quick dodge around a busy circle, we'll ride the bike lanes on Reed Market, Mt. Washington, and Shevlin Park Rd. until we find ourselves climbing back to wide open spaces on the NW corner of our route. A quick dive down Johnson Road and Bailey Hill, a hazardous crossing of Hwy 20, and we'll find ourselves in Tumalo, where delicious smells tempt us to stop. But, there's no rest for this crew; we make a beeline out of Tumalo, climb out of the river gorge, and work our way over Meth Hill to our NE limits, crossing Hwy 20 on Deschutes Market Road. From there, it's smooth sailing on new asphalt all the way back to On Tap. 

I'll lead this ride at an average D-pace, 15-17 mph, but Colin has also offered to lead at an E-pace (with a few extra miles) if a faster group decides to organize and break off. We'll figure that out as we go.
