Crooked River Canyon - Milliken Loop

We've had to move this ride around in the calendar a couple of times, but this time we're on for sure. This is one of two rides leaving from Prineville on this day; the other is a B/C companion ride that will start and (hopefully) finish at the same time--just in time to gather for an after-ride beverage and bite.

We meet up at the Crook County High School, next to the tennis courts (where there are restroom facilities), leave at 10:00 sharp, and head south, following the beautiful Crooked River canyon. Our big climb of the day takes us up and over the Prineville Reservoir dam, up the canyon a bit further, then a right turn onto Reservoir Road, then another right turn onto silky smooth Milliken Road for the long, fast northbound descent all the way back to Prineville and our starting point.

This is posted as a D-ride, but there is a companion B/C-paced out-and-back along Crook River Canyon (the first part of the ride) to be lead separately by Steve and Susan Klarquist. So, if you're interested in something a little less challenging, sign up for the Klarquist ride. Plan on meeting at Ochoco Brewing for lunch after the ride.
