McKenzie Pass Out-n-Back

The Famous McKenzie Pass Scenic Bike Route without cars (open to cars June 21). We'll gather on the east side of Sisters Village Green Park and start together. Since it's an out-and-back, everyone can ride at their own pace. Make sure you know how to get back to the Village Green! Barb rides at a B pace. Sam rides at a D pace, and yes they will be on single bikes. If someone wants to lead a C paced group, please raise your hand.  If you haven't done this route without cars, it is definitely worth doing. 

Expect sunny conditions with mid 50s at the start, and high 40s at the summit. 

As for distance, it's about 30 miles to the top and back. If you want more miles, the ride can be extended as far as you'd like before turning back; to the west gate and back makes it a 50-mile trek (with nearly 5,000 feet of climbing). In all likelihood, most will turn around at the top, some may go another 5 miles to Juniper Trailhead, and some the whole nine yards. Plenty of choices; choose yours on the fly.

Afterward there is a good chance we'll go to the nearby EuroSport Food Carts.
